Romantic Sunset!

I always enjoy driving or hiking around Joshua Tree National Park at sunset. Time seems to stand still. Scan the horizon and you will see individuals, couples, rock climbing groups, etc., perched on top of boulder formations all over the Park. Everyone in the Park seems to stop at the same time to appreciate the sunset. From a photography point of view, it's a great photo opp! One of the many things on my long "to do" list is to take an entire series of shots of couples and climbers and hikers enjoying the desert sunset while perched high on top of Joshua Tree's unique boulder formations. It would make a pretty cool photo collection, don't you think?

  7. Yes it would make a great collection. One of my favourite snaps of my hubby is him silhouetted against the sunset sitting on cliffs on the west coast of Scotland. He is looking back at me and even though he is silhouetted I know he is smiling. Great shot.

  9. If they are of this quality, yes, it would make a fine collection! That cactus(?) to the left affords additional interest to the scene...is it standing guard for the couple or being a voyeur?

  15. Wonderful---- You might be amused to find out my first instantaneous reaction was a cat---- the Joshua tree is a tail, the rocks the people are on make up the body of the cat. I think I need to go sit in the shade.

  17. That is a great idea! Better get the photos all done before the Joshua Trees become extinct, as some of the climate experts are predicting! That is one very nice image.

  20. I think it would be a great idea. It would make a great business. When we were at the beach in Alabama last month there are lots of photographers who cater to people wanting themselves photographed on the beach. I think the desert would have similar attraction.

  21. It would make a wonderful collection -- maybe even a coffee table book -- and I think this photo could be the cover.
