Coachella Skies
This area of Southern California is consistently one of the windiest. It's called the San Gorgonio Pass, and is the gateway to the Coachella Valley. Look closely and you will see a cluster of wind generators. Beyond the wind turbines and to the right is the Morongo Valley Casino. If you were to turn and look in the opposite direction, you would see wind generators for as far as the eye can see!

On the Corner of Sunrise and Sunset
I don't know why it didn't occur to me before now to take this sky shot. This street sign is very close to our house, where we've lived for 25 years. Seems like a perfect shot for Skywatch Friday. Some ideas just take time, I guess!

Tableside Service at Morimoto's
While attending a business meeting a couple weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to join a team dinner at "the best restaurant in Philly!" The person who arranged it is local to Philly and evidently eats at Morimoto's all the time. He arranged for a private room and a dedicated server who's a personal friend. Lots of free sample food and off-the-menu stuff. Long story shot, probably the best meal I've ever had! During pre meal appetizers, this young lady prepared a sizzling appetizer (I have no idea what it was) right next to me. I liked the low light from the single tabletop lamp, the look of intense concentration on her face, and the fast movement of her hands as she quickly prepared the dish. This iPhone shot captured the moment well. A wonderful way to remember an incredible meal!

Sitting on a Bench, Watching the Clouds Pass By
I have to be careful with my fisheye lens. It has a true 180-degree view, and if I'm not careful, I end up with my feet (or other body parts) in the image!!
I evidently forgot to remove the little collar device that my lens cap attaches to. That's why I ended up with the weird red rings around the photo. Reminds me of looking out a boat window, so I didn't edit it.

Look But Don't Touch!!
Desert cholla can be nice to look at, especially in the late afternoon sun. Back-lighting on their thorny needles can make them look like they are glowing.
But don't touch! Don't even brush lightly against them. The thorns and bits of cactus seem to almost "jump" onto the unwary hiker (hence the nickname, "jumping cholla"). The thorns are barbed at the end, painful, and very difficult to remove.

Afternoon Jog
She's getting ready to go for an afternoon jog, but first stops to enjoy the flowers...
Oh, and always important to stretch out those tight muscles before jogging!
OK, she appears to be ready. On your mark, get set... GO!!
Ha, that was easy, Grandpa! Let's do it again!!
