View from the beach at night... empty chairs and beach umbrellas, looking back toward the hotel. I used a small flashlight to light up the umbrellas.
What do you get when you are taking a 30 second exposure and a helicopter flies overhead?? (see below)
What do you get when you point your camera towards the ocean on a dark night and take a 30 second exposure?? Well, not much, but I like the way the waves blur and pick up the moonlight.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed the nighttime tour around the beautiful "Hotel Del". Linking with Skywatch Friday. Click on the link to check out great skies from around the world!
All these shots are fabulous! I like those pink umbrellas.
ReplyDeleteWonderful series! I have heard of this beautiful hotel.. I love the sky shots. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteNice place...:)
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of the charm is renovated away by keeping up with the times but thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteoh the hotel del is my favorite! i remember we'd get so excited to see the christmas tree each year...it's such a beautiful hotel...great photos!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series of niht shots you captured there. Number 2 is the best
ReplyDeleteYou obviously took much better equipment than I did when you photographed The Del. That last image is a classic. Very nice set of images.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. My fave is the last one. It looks like a scene from a modern fairytale.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. Yes it is a must see .... as practically every single thing about San Diego is.. We loved it there. It's probably the best place in the world climate wise and has everything going for it you could possibly want. Except (when we were RVing) we couldn't afford to live there for more than a month or two at a time ;>)
ReplyDeleteWow, such a beautiful spot to visit. Loved the umbrella shot!
ReplyDeleteOh it's been a long time since I've seen the Hotel Del - what glorious photos - I can almost feel the warm breezes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous captures!!
ReplyDeleteLooks really beautiful !
ReplyDeleteAmazing, with all that light you can still see the stars. Enjoyed the tour.
ReplyDeleteI've never stayed the Coronado but have been there a couple of times. It is just beautiful. You have captured it and the surroundings wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos! It's lovely to see the Del at night. I visited many times when we lived in San Diego many years ago.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely set of photos. Your night time shots have real drama and I love the clarity and richness of colour in your final image.
