Beautiful shots. I used to work for an oil and gas subsidiary of Union Pacific Railroad eons ago. I ended up with seven shares of stock. The best thing is that they send all shareholders a calendar of railroad images every year.
That's a beauty (she can say since she's not stuck at a RR crossing for-freaking-EVER waiting for one of our own interminably BNSF trains to go by!) :-) I love the angle you took this from - it adds such a nice touch of drama and a lot more of that gorgeous sky. Your special effects are impressive as well! I agree with John's comment above that it looks like a painting, and definitely belongs on a train-themed calendar!
I used to drive out there to watch a train or two, but when gas prices were so high, I quit. I was last out there last spring. However, the trains run parallel to Interstate 10, which I drive every day. There just aren't good places and mountains as a beautiful backdrop....oh, well...maybe when I retire I can do this!
