30 second exposure, f/18, ISO 200, 23mm |
Another long exposure night shot (below). This one caught my eye because the moon was bright enough on this cloudless night to cast some well-defined shadows.

both are very cool! the first is pretty ironic. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful light in your Pics. And this fence looks sturdy (much upkeep with white though:) )
ReplyDeleteBlatant irony makes me laugh! Beautiful night .
ReplyDeleteYep, I agree with Sallie!! Blatant irony makes me laugh, too! And a lovely night indeed!! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeletethe fence shadow is very nice. great find on the first one.
ReplyDeleteI like these night shots. I also think the multicolored traffic light is fun!
ReplyDeleteThese are both wonderful. I really like the way the lights fan out in the shots. The 2nd one caught my eye. I just became a new follower and would love it if you'd consider adding a follow by e-mail feature to your sidebar as well for updates.
ReplyDeleteI like that first shot!
ReplyDeletegosh what a lovely place to live in!
ReplyDeleteThose moon shadows are very cool but all your photos are great!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots - I especially like the second one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful night shots! Good control of your camera to capture these interesting shots as well as the environment!

Interesting that the camera caught all 3 lights showing at the same time. great fence entry.
ReplyDeleteYou made ordinary fences look extraordinary! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThere you go, I was taking night shots last weekend of Fireworks. Great minds.
ReplyDeleteReally nice work on capturing the lighting of the evening and yes that is a funny place to post that sign
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and really like the contradiction in the first one. Now the sky in the second one more black and not so blue but how?
ReplyDeleteI like both of these night shots. The first is great for smiles and the second is simply beautiful. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWow!! I love the pump in the first image!!! I have studied moon shadows a lot, but never had the courage to try such a long exposure...
ReplyDeleteGreat night shots!
ReplyDeleteVery, very pretty!
ReplyDeletenice sky and cool sign. Wonder if the one who did hang it thought so to.
ReplyDeletehahaha. I enjoy coming across signs like that one. I like your compositions. Seeing the moon-casted shadows inspires me to to out at night on a full moon.
ReplyDeleteSo much going on in that first photo - the amusing irony ("this applies to everybody but me!") and the blur of the pump jack are both cool, but it's the illuminations I love best! That beautiful but baffling traffic light (OMG, do I stop? Slow down? Go? Go faster? lol) and the radiant moon - lovely! After all that fun chaos, the fence shadows give such a tranquil note to end on.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing those two wonderful night shots.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Fun shots.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I am just now playing with long-exposure shots and I love it. Those starbursts and motion blurs that come from it are awesome. These are pretty darn amazing!
ReplyDeleteBoth are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which one I like the best. They are both wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I guess the irony escaped them. I love your extended exposure night scenes, the colors are incredible, especially the lights and deep blue sky.
ReplyDeleteThese are both wonderful!! I also love to take pictures in the blue hour!
ReplyDeleteI love your fence shot because of the wandering shadows.
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke to have that sign made and then hang it on a fence! The second image is beautiful and it's fascinating to read how it was created - I'm going to have to learn how to get beyond point and shoot!
ReplyDeleteVery nice exposures. The moon shadows are so sharp, too.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures - I do like the sign. "Drive through Burgers" always makes me laugh - just how big must they be!!??
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne.
PS: sorry for slow reply, I've been away from home because of work!
Funny sign:) Beutiful pcis, and the colors are out of this world!!
ReplyDeleteBoth are wonderful shots. You captured such mood in each of them. I have to play more with night photography. Thanks for your visit to my blog. It's always nice to welcome a new face.
ReplyDeleteI've never done a long exposures! How wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! And I love the header photograph - it's a peach.
