The edits (below) are mainly cropping and converting to B&W. You can also adjust exposure, contrast, and a few other basic edits. These shots are of my granddaughter playing on some sand dunes. The sun had set behind the dunes and were highlighting the sky but she was in the shadows. I like silhouette shots. Even without much detail or ability to make out facial expressions, you can tell she is having fun!
Don't be afraid to try out editing on your phone. Of course, there are a bunch of photo-editing apps that you can use, but basic in-phone editing capabilities are reasonably good.

ReplyDeleteB&W can create such a lovely mood
ReplyDeletePowerful shots, the overhead clouds are so dramatic!
ReplyDeleteThese shots are amazing! I would never have guessed they were taken using an iPhone if you haven't told me. I will surely check out these features on my iPhone.

If I had to pick one out of this series, I liked the second image from the bottom BEST.

ReplyDeleteAnd I love seeing that little girl being so obliging to help you with your photographs
Indeed wonderful shots and for me personally number 2 . Great cloud shapes with a red filter from the old film days.
ReplyDeleteLovely cloud in B&W
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures..especially the little girl.Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLovely cloud photos! Wonderful silhouettes!
ReplyDeleteNifty shots! I've tried taking pictures out the plane window before. The scratched up glass didn't help.

I like this series. I should do more editing on my phone, but my natural tendency is to use the computer. I was on a very full flight the other week and the seat next to me was empty, woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteloved her silhouettes at play.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots - so creative. Fun in the sand is the best!!!
ReplyDeleteIts amazing what can be done with phone editing these days and your pics are evidence of that. I upload all my photos to flickr and I find myself downloading them to my Ipod Touch and editing with snapseed and/or other apps and then uploading back to Flickr for my blog rather than firing up the Photoshop or Topaz software to edit the photos. Still, a creative way to pass the time on a flight to edit or red-edit photographs.
ReplyDeleteThe photographer is always far more important than the equipment. The images are great--- and the ones with your granddaughter are eloquent.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful black and white shoots!Love them edeted or not:)))Wish you a happy weekend with your family:))))
ReplyDeleteSuch amazing shots!!!! brilliant!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots both of the clouds and your granddaughter. I like black and white photoes a lot. :)

ReplyDeleteYou took great shots with your iPhone. Wonderful silhouettes of your granddaughter too. I have never tried any of the editing features on mine. You've given me inspiration, thank you :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent sky pictures !!
ReplyDeleteyour iphone takes some great photos! I've still got my samsung galaxy s3 that's about 4 years old, am thinking about upgrading this year.
ReplyDeletewonderful images of clouds and silhouettes
ReplyDeleteNice images - I think there is a lot of snobbery about how, how much and where you should edit your pictures.
ReplyDeleteJust spent 24 hours on a plane - with I had thought of photo-editing to pass the time!!

Wow, that second one is a keeper! Now what and who can compete with your little grand daughter?
ReplyDeleteGreat B&W photos!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you could do that kind of editing on an IPhone. Your boredom reaped beautiful results. And yes, you certainly can tell your granddaughter is having fun. Her delight is obvious and contagious. I want to go play in the sand ..maybe with a great-grandson or two ;>)
