It was a hot summer for sure. The newspaper said the hottest July on record. Ever!! It was also a humid summer (by S CA standards, where we usually have very little humidity). I can take the heat, but not the humidity!
View from the Huntington Beach pier (looking N). This was taken on a weekday. Weekends are much busier! |
Spent some really fun days at the beach. Mostly near the Huntington Beach pier. The shot above was taken by my wife when the US Open of Surfing was taking place.
Just hanging around at one of the local parks. We spent a LOT of time at parks over the summer!
Working on her "lego-license"! |
A visit to Legoland!
The morning before her first day of kindergarten (showing off her new backpack)!
Yeah, it has been way too humid this summer. I mean, the heat wasn't great, but it was the humidity that did me in. (I avoided PCH during the surfing Open. It doesn't look as crowded as I expected it was.)
ReplyDeleteFun shots!
ReplyDeleteIt's been humid here as well during the summer. I expect the worst of it is done, but you never know.
That looks like a very busy summer indeed!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, yes it is someone's home. Very unusual home.
That looks like a fun summer - I often wish my grandchildren lived closer.
ReplyDeleteThe humidity in the desert regions has been really something this summer, hasn't it? However, just looking at your beach shots helps to cool me down!
ReplyDeleteAAAhhhhh...the first day of kindergarten! Time sure flies by! And the photos make us all smile and wish we could come along and play! LOVE the one of her jumping and you've captured the shadow of her and of you! Beautiful photos of a summer you won't forget!
ReplyDeleteSweet pictures! Happy memories.
ReplyDeleteLove a sandy beach.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the wonderful time spent with your grand daughter! She can swim so well, like a fish in the water. She is indeed a beautiful grand kid!

It's always good to see her.
ReplyDeleteIf we ever have temperatures as high as that then I'd like it to be announced with such a pretty smile. Lovely memories of summer.

I love looking at life through a child's eye. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photographs with me.
ReplyDeleteIt sure isn't end of the summer here.
ReplyDeleteLily is adorable, and it looks like you all had a wonderful summer! My oldest granddaughter also started kindergarten this week. We moved to Colorado from NYC to take care of her while her parents worked, so it was an emotional day for us. Time passes so quickly!
ReplyDeleteThe end of summer is usually kind of sad to let go of. But I remember always being excited for the first few days of school. It was like an interesting new adventure.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice that you and Lily can spend so much time together and enjoy the beach on less crowded days. How wonderful too to have a neighbour with a swimming pool and an open invitation to use it. I'd love a neighbour like that! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Lily is so adorable, she looks like a bundle of energetic fun! Nothing can beat the beach in summer.. well maybe the neighbours pool, it does look seriously inviting ☺
ReplyDeleteKindergarten, oh my, what adventure lies ahead. I'm digging this side of you and the shadow action shot and selfie pics are outstanding. I also love the angles of both beach photos and the clarity of the underwater shots. It looks as if you're one of the smart ones by bringing cover, good idea. That's a big turnout for a weekend!
ReplyDeleteShe is so fearless, isn't she? I love the picture where you hold hands, watching the ocean. And I always love to see pictures of her, so this was just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLilly is a real cutie pie and it looks like she is happy just about anywhere.

ReplyDeleteI will indulge you any time if it means we get to see precious shots like this! I am not in a rush to have grandkids, but I know we will have loads of fun when we do. Thanks for the preview of this glorious phase of life - my favorite is the underwater shot with the goggles!
ReplyDeleteCute photos, really cute !
ReplyDeleteMaking great memories! She is a cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard for me to relate to school starting here on August 21st.
lovely images of your grandaughter. A time to cherish :)
ReplyDeletePictographs, always amaze me. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteShe can't be old enough for school already? Can she? How time flies. Wonderful portraits of a perfect summer for the big girl and her grandparents too! Summer does end when school starts ... no matter what the temperature and no matter how long it has been since we have been involved with public schools. (Even most of our grandchildren are long past that time!)
ReplyDeleteChildren are our the most precious thing. And yes, summer is ending... It's still warm here, but you can feel autumn in the air.
