The rain brought some dramatic skies to Orange County (no desert shots this week). These were all captured on my iPhone early last week, just before the rain started.

ReplyDeleteIn regards to your comment on my blog: We live out in the country on acreage and we look East and just watch the Moon or sun rise as it comes over the hill---no searching.

ReplyDeleteAmazing shots, especially with an iPhone. I’m glad you got some rain.
ReplyDeleteStunning display by nature. Awesome shots. Ab fab.
ReplyDeleteHow do you get such shots on an iPhone? I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair to us, by the fourth day, the schools were pretty much under water. At least, the school I was at was.
Beautiful, ominous skies. We've finally had some decent snow over the last couple of weeks (the mountains have had a ton this year, but we've been mostly sheltered).
ReplyDeleteThe rain was probably needed, even if not wanted, and brought those dramatic skies.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics.
ReplyDeleteBooyah!!! Viva the cell phone....great shots!
ReplyDeleteThose are cool clouds! If you lived in Oregon, you'd be very used to rain by now.
ReplyDeleteI love tropical monsoon season in my village. Those heavy clouds enable you to click pictures at any time of day. They are such a majestic thing to behold. Fantastic images!
ReplyDeleteWow! Super amazing sky!
ReplyDeleteWow - love all the amazing clouds in that sky! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteStung clausd !
ReplyDeleteIndeed a perfect sky scene !
My sky...
Stunning clouds ;-)
DeleteExcuse me
Leave the drama to mother nature. Stunning cloud formations.
ReplyDeleteWow, dramatic skies, especially the first one, beautiful !
ReplyDeleteYes... a lot of drama in those skies.
ReplyDeleteHello, I may complain about our rainy weather, but the rain is better than a drought. Love your awesome sky captures. The clouds are so dramatic and pretty. Happy Friday, enjoy your day and weekend!
ReplyDeleteAmazing clouds. We maybe should all put away our thousand-dollar cameras and stick with our phone camera. ☺
ReplyDeletedramatic skyshots
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh those skies are biblical! It's the same here SPP, rain in summer is very much appreciated. Happy weekend ✨
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning sky pictures. I don't even have a favorite, but the first one comes close.
ReplyDeleteGreat sky shots this time, Peter. I like some action and drama in the sky now and then. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the first shot!
ReplyDeleteYour phone really captured the drama quite well.
ReplyDeleteIncredible sky shots!
ReplyDeleteVery dramatic skies! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteMother nature sure knows what dramatic means. Simply stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow! Very dramatic.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning photos! ♥ I've been to SoCal many times (my parents lived in San Diego) and loved the weather there. Made me laugh when they said 60 degrees was cold, though! ☺ That seems like a lot more rain than you usually get. Makes for beautiful sky shots, though. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous skies!Rain is extremely rare here in Jeddah, and when it rains there is usually severe flooding. I really miss the rain and the dramatic skies...
ReplyDeleteDramatic is the correct word.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend you too!
Amazing dramatic skies indeed! Lovely captures!
ReplyDeleteOminous sky shots ~ Wow! ~ Glad you got some rain ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteHappy Day to you,

ReplyDeletebeautiful shots in literal sense drama in the sky...
ReplyDeleteHow dramatic! Those are wonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteI'll say! Those skies are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteQUE HERMOSURA DE FOTOS!!!!
ReplyDeleteSALUDITOS
Wow! Stunning and dramatic skies!
ReplyDeleteHa, well your well wishing will keep a nice thought, lol. There sure is a dramatic change in the sky, it's wonderful and glad you got some moisture. The clouds over the elementary school looks like a teddy bear! It's funny to see the little guy wearing a helmet to sky watch (:
ReplyDeleteOh gorgeous pre rain skies! You haven’t heard people complaining about rain and (light) chill until you’ve lived in a Snowbird Resort... we are all terrible weather wimps and old and querulous besides )j! (It’s really been quite wet and chilly here for a week, but one only has to look at the weather channel to know how lucky we all are. As you say!)
ReplyDeleteYou captured some pretty spectacular skies! I know what you mean about the complaining. I tend to complain when the temperatures dip into the low 50's. That would be considered a heat wave in some parts of this country.
ReplyDeleteThe first shot looks like a painting; I kept studying it, trying to decide if you had put any filters on it. But I suppose Nature is the best painter. I also like the shot from the Target parking lot, with the clouds appearing to gather around the lamp post. Nice composition! We are enjoying a couple of cold, blue sky days - just the way I like it!
ReplyDeleteWow, those skies are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFabulous sky shots. Wish the clouds and rain were here.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. It is dramatic!
