I began this late afternoon hike with hopes of capturing a pretty sunset, and later, the Milky Way. But I had strong doubts about the Milky Way, given the heavy cloud cover. However, if you like beautiful desert skies, this was a pretty epic day. I ended up taking a ton of pictures!

| A bad place to be standing during an earthquake!! |
I decided to use this spot as my "home base". I left my backpack here and set up my tripod, and also my iPhone tripod, and then continued to explore and take more photos (future post). The PhotoPills app tells me the Milky Way will be positioned between the rocks and the Joshua trees (assuming the sky clears, which is a big assumption!).
I'll leave you with this short iPhone time lapse of the clouds moving overhead.
Thanks for stopping by!!

ReplyDeleteEpic, some really stunning photos in the desert, got to love those Joshua trees
ReplyDeleteReally outstanding desert photos of the sky, the rock formations, the sand, and the vegetation and a random person standing on top of the stack of rocks.
ReplyDeletePretty cool. Lots of clouds, but no rain...
