Desert Wire Macros!

I took these photos last weekend out near Joshua Tree. Something about old barbed wire in the wide open spaces of the desert is irresistible to me! The photo above is taken through-the-viewfinder of my Kodak Duaflex II. The rest are straight through my macro lens.
Old cable wire wrapped around a wood screw.

For more macro shots, please check out Macro Monday. Have a fantastic week!!

  1. Rusty barbed wire, reminds of my childhood on the farm, although I was too busy climbing through it then to think of taking a photo of it.

  10. Especially like your first shot. Looks like it came from an old and faded archive. Just the effect you wanted.

  19. I love the colors and twists in the second photo, especially. Isn't it amazing how much beauty there is to be found in things which are deteriorating?

  25. the first picture is my favorite. the composition, framing and editing all work together to highlight the rugged landscape and random prickly wire.

  28. Thanks for stopping by today. I am glad you did, because otherwise I might not have found your photos, ever. Wow, everything I have seen so far is beautiful. Your post about your viewfinder-monopod box-contraption was brilliant, very creative and made me laugh out loud. Have a very nice weekend, and I will definitely be back!
