Greetings from Joshua Tree!!

My wife and I went out to JT last weekend to do some "scouting" for a photo shoot. My nephew is starting a new business (high end jewelry) and has asked me to be the photographer. I'm honored, but at the same time a little nervous, given I'm just an amateur. At any rate, we will be heading out to the Joshua Tree area with a couple of models and a director.  We've scouted out what I think will be some great photo shoot sites... and in the process of scouting took a few sunset photos in Joshua Tree National Park. Hopefully I can share some live model photos with you in the next couple weeks.  Wish me luck!

  13. Really beautiful! I love silhouettes against sunrises and sunsets (hey, a poem! lol), and the Joshua tree makes for an excellent one! That top photo is just gorgeous. And I love your special effects on the other two, that make them look like paintings! So creative, and such wonderful photos for SkyWatch!

I think your nephew chose his photographer well! Good luck to both of you in your new business ventures! :-)

  25. Thanks so much for the comments about trying midrange. I definitely am going to try the suggestions. I have been working at trying to find my camera's 'sweet spot' but haven't gotten there yet. Plus I only have the lens that came with the camera....but that's okay...I still have too much to learn before I add yet another lens to become familiar with. I plan on visiting often!!!
