Joshua Tree Skies... Color Version!

I took my inspiration for this post from Shirley who left a comment on my last post of b&w photos from Joshua Tree. She wondered what the photos looked like in color. So going back through some of the photos from that same photo shoot and sharing, this time, in color. Thanks for the comment, Shirley!
Lone Joshua Tree

Desert wash, this time in color!
My lizard friend with his red head and black & yellow body.
I used a couple textures to "grunge up" the original photo.
Leaving Joshua Tree National Park at night from the east entrance (Utah Trail), this is the view you see. That's the 29 Palms Marine Base in the far distance.
Linking with Skywatch Friday. Click on the link to check out great skies from around the world. Have a great weekend!!

  3. I love your photo works of art every time I visit. The bonus is I still get to see all the grandeur of the desert without having to go there ( been there, done that for many years!) in the Summer heat or Winter Cold.

  5. Lovely skies and beautiful scene. The park looks like an awesome place for taking photos. I love the texture shot and the night light shot. But, they are all gorgeous. Happy weekend to you!

  6. Oh my goodness...I don't know where to begin! Such beauty. You've managed to awe me with the very first image of the joshua tree at sunset and its silhouette. Cute lizard...non-poisonous I hope. I think they all are, aren't they; except for the gila monster. And the night lights at the Marine Base [ooorah!!] There is something about lights at night from a distance that ....well, it just does something to me that I ogle and ahhhhh a lot.

  11. Thank you, Shirley indeed! I've been gone and so am behind in my blog visits and so haven't seen the B&W versions yet, but these color ones are spectacular! Those first two especially take my breath away. And I love your lizard friend - he's a very handsome fella, and much more interesting looking than the Geico gekko. :-)

  16. I thought the black-and-white shots were beautiful (I still feel that way), but these color photos are magnificent. The color in the sky is fantastic.
