Walkin' the Dog

My wife and I have our desert homestead project going on in 29 Palms, so we are regular shoppers at the Home Depot in Yucca Valley in the high desert of Southern California. We pass right by it on our drive in. Our usual tactic: My wife walks the dog while I run in and buy supplies. But we noticed dogs going in and out of the store with their owners. Turns out dogs are welcome in the store!! Can't say I've ever been in any other Home Depot and noticed people with their dogs, so trying to figure out if it's just this one particular store that allows dogs. Kind of a strange experience walking our chihuahua in the Home Depot, but I must say, she seems to enjoy it!!

  3. I've seen small dogs in our Lowe's store. I hope your dog helped you find the bargains.

  4. Awwww...nice of HD to let the dogs. Safer for them, too.

  5. About 10 years ago, my daughters both worked at the Home Depot, and I would stop in half an hour early when I went to pick them up. I figured I could do a brisk mile or so in the air conditioning, when it was so hot outside...

  6. And I am sure Home Depot just loves your plug! I love your photos of the sun being hugged by the tree - both clever and simple shots, aside from that!

  7. We've been seeing a lot of dogs (some on leash, some loose!) in our local Home Depot too! But only fairly recently, so I'm thinking it's a recent policy. Wish we could have taken advantage of it when we were spending most of our time there when building our house last year!

  8. I live in Rochester, NY and had my dog in the car temps in low 80*s so I left the window open. I'm walking down the main corridor and hear click clack click clack behind me. Sure enough my dog jumped from the car window walked to the automatic doors walked in another set of auto doors and was 10 feet behind me. She is a Vizsla and they are know for their intelligence. Embarrassed I walked her back to the car. If I had known I would have brought her with me.Thanks.
