I knew right away I was going to like this place. The old drive-in movie ticket booth was still intact and it has that mid-century modern look. Very cool under blue desert skies!
Free parking, free entrance, no crowds, and strange and unusual stuff as soon as you get out of your car!
A wall of rusty old gas cans, wagon wheels, car rims, tools, and who knows what all.
Searching for treasures under blue skies and Joshua Trees...So much it's hard to know where to begin!
Stained glass window made out of household glass.
Yup, lots of vintage goods, treasures, and oddities!!
One of my wifes finds... a red and white Radio Flyer tricycle with whitewall tires! How can you pass that up for under $10? I can already picture my granddaughter tearing around on this thing!!
I would rate this swap meet an enthusiastic two thumbs up! Since I got a piece of my desert fence in the late afternoon sun, linking with Good Fences at Run*A*Round Ranch. Also sharing my blue desert skies at Sywatch Friday. Thanks for stopping by!
Love the swapmeets. So many treasures.. I would love a wagon wheel for my yard.. And wow, that is a big chicken, it would scare away my yardbirds. Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing.. Happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place for a photoshoot, there are so many great details.
ReplyDeleteI could be there for hours without a boring momen6t, I think.
What we call over here a scrap yard or junk yard to you, still as the saying goes , "one mans junk is another's treasure"

ReplyDeleteit looks like a ghost town swap meet - what fun!!!
ReplyDeleteI know one thing, I could spend hours and probably need a pickup to haul my finds home...wow.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place!!
ReplyDeleteA truly great place!!! I love that image of the tricycle! And it's in perfect condition, too! The windows are to die for!
ReplyDeleteAlways worth a visit ...even if just to look around at all the interesting "Stuff"! A person could spend days there....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful junk! I might try to find a place for that window if I were there. It's pretty cool. But the trike is even better especially considering the planned recipient!
ReplyDeleteLove that tricycle and I bet your littlun will too! (Thanks for dropping by my blog)
ReplyDeleteOh, if only I could have tagged along with you! That stained glass window would be in my garden right now! And probably a lot of other goodies too. Just attended our town's 2nd annual Yard & Garden tour yesterday, and the creative ways some people repurpose "another man's junk" into treasure was inspired. Now I desperately want to step through my computer screen and into this Swap Meet! :-) That Radio Flyer was a great find and looks like it's in pristine condition - I had one just like it when I was a wee one! That drive-in ticket booth is fantastic, happy to see it's still intact (thanks, no doubt, to the desiccating climate there). Thanks for this fun post!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this place! I haven't been in a few years, but it is awesome. Lot's of folk art, rusty gold and unexpected treasures.
ReplyDeleteYour photos really captured the feel of the place.
