The yucca plants are blooming! |
Hard to see, but the barbed wire fence on the left of the yucca in the above photo is the border for Joshua Tree National Park. Step over (or under) it to the left and you are in the Park. That's exactly what I did, and then hiked up the wash, as I took the photos for this post.

ReplyDeleteYou make my day each time I come here for a visit. Simply splendid shots.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
Beautiful images! When the sun sets is probably the best time to take pics? During the day the sun must obliterate half of the shapes!
ReplyDeleteFirst I though the next to last was an explosion - you got me good there, Peter!
Also inviting you to my new meme SEASONS - anything during the seasons goes (beyond landscapes!) The thumbnail link is open Mon-Wed. till 7pm, Pacific time.
Just to give you an idea, I like one of your images of the old cars you posted before:)-but it's your choice. Happy weekend and hope to see you there!

ReplyDeleteWonderful. I should be down there right now but am sidelined here at home waiting for a part to make repairs on the RV. Grrr...
ReplyDeleteI saw that fence. I think I'd step over rather then crawl under. Wow your desert photos were just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAmazing crystal clear photos.
ReplyDeleteYou mean they don't have a high tech security fence with a nearby swat team to swoop down on trespassers?
Wonderful. Amazing clicks.

ReplyDeleteThis is stunning! Thank you for the beautiful beautiful view!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dessert scenery, your photos are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so vivid! The first one is my favourite. I'd like it as a picture in my home. When we lived in Southern California Joshua Tree was a place we like to camp and use our telescope to watch the stars. - Margy
ReplyDeleteStunning shots! The fifth from the top is amazing - the clouds seem to explode from the ground.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. It's so nice to see other parts of the country. It may as well be another part of the world for all the similarity to where I live.
ReplyDeleteWow, such beautiful scenery !!!
ReplyDeleteI love your desert shots! It's so fascinating to see the landscape, so different from everything else. We have breathtaking landscapes and views in Norway, but in my opinion, nothing compared to the desert. If I have to pic a favorite, I will chose the first image, the tree makes a great focus point and it has a stunning view.
ReplyDeleteIrene
Beautiful desert images!
ReplyDeleteA stunning area and great photos.
ReplyDeleteFantastic pictures. So amazing
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous shots!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has never seen the desert in his life, these pictures intrigue me. Amazing :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Funny you sneaking into the NP!! (As I remember it, there aren't any entrance gates anyway and I'm sure you have a pass, but I just couldn't resist a little teasing!). We once stepped across a barbwired fence into Mexico while in one of the Arizona National Parks. Long time ago-- there's probably a wall there now (not funny).
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! such a fantastic nature and I love the cactus on the last image!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a gorgeous photography! Beautiful scenery
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! As always :-)) I have experienced it several times, that unknown people asking if I'm Mrs. Ranten, which is my nikname on the Internet. It's always nice to meet in the real world ?!
