Doo Doo Doo Lookin' Out My Backdoor

About four weekends ago (yes, that's how behind I am on my posts!) we were in 29 Palms for the weekend when one of those rare, beautiful desert storms moved through the area. I didn't even have to leave my property for these photos... no hiking required... all taken right outside my door!

That's Sullivan Road heading off to the west.

Pretty shot of Copper Mountain (looking north)

Looking south toward Indian Cove, Joshua Tree National Park... see the little piece of rainbow?

A rainbow over our house. Sorry, couldn't help the shadow!

Sometimes great photos are waiting for you right outside your door!

  11. Really stunning views! it depends where you live. When we lived in the condo in Costa Mesa, there was only a little piece of sky in front of my kitchen window I could take sky shots. That's why love where I live now, great sunsets, and clouds above and across the street, and on our way to Sacramento:) Have a great weekend:)

  28. Peter,

What a view you have out your back door! The first photo is my favorite. I love the dramatic feel the fingers of God pushing through the dim clouds and shadowy mountains! I also love the full bow rainbow over your home, too. That's a rarity to capture, too. Who cares you got your shadow in the shot, it's a wonderful, wonderful shot! *green with envy in a good way* I admire your photographic ability to capture amazing dessert scenes. I hope some day that we can visit your neck of wood. Thanks for sharing your incredible skyviews!
