Beautiful vintage VW camper van with what looks like original paint. |
Skies over the local elementary school that my granddaughter attends. We go here often so she can play on the playground. |
Kind of a random shot. I was waiting to meet a friend for lunch last week, and I noticed this window next to the restaurant covered in stickers. I have no idea what any of these stickers refer to. I guess I'm way out of touch with the younger generation (and I'm OK with that!).
X marks the spot! |

Standing on the bridge and looking back up toward the "skywatch viewing device". |
Looking down at the clouds! |
OK, time to go. I hear my granddaughter calling me: "Grandpa, quit taking pictures and come play with me!!"
Linking with Skywatch Friday.

Those clouds are quite spectacular! The sky reflection shot is really cool!
ReplyDeleteHave fun playing !
Wow, you got some great pics right close to the house. I love big fluffy clouds against a blue sky.
ReplyDeleteI can never figure out what stickers are about.
Glorious skies! Love the old VW camper - unbelievable the condition if that is original paint.
ReplyDeleteNice captures! It's hard to know what will be interesting when you see stuff everyday. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWOW! These are all amazing. I love watching the sky.So much beauty right above us.
ReplyDeletePretty skies. Send some of that rain our way, preferably in the form of a huge snowstorm!
ReplyDeleteLovely neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteFor once your skies could be Dutch skies, they are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAs are that old VW camper and the restored camping trailers.
Enjoy your weekend!
Terrific clouds in those skies.
ReplyDeleteSome very impressive images here. I have never been disappointed when visiting this site and you still have the best header photo on the net. I love how you worked that VW van into one of the images. Well done. Have a blessed week-end.
ReplyDeleteAmazing clouds. Loved all pics.
ReplyDeleteGreetings.
Great work with that cell phone camera!!! That last shot is eye-popping...I love the textures of the two different cloud formations...great catch.
ReplyDeleteHow do you do it? I think you have a special line with the man upstairs ... he tells you where to go for the best pix! My daughter is a big fan of VW buses, so I am forwarding this link to her! Thanks for sharing these glorious images with us, and good for you to 'abandon ship' and play with your granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteWonderful skies! I love that camper van too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful sky photos! Great reflection shot!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the lane with the fence and row of trees (3rd photo)
Have a beautiful day!
Its just creepy how good you can capture your surroundings with a mobile and the fact that it is not zooming gives it a kind of pleasing feeling by watching the photo's. I still don't feel very comfortable with a mobile as photo equipment. Perhaps to long worked with "real" camera's but hee my two leica's are now also collecting dust on the shelf. By seeing your result I must try better to get over that border and must decide now if I take that fuji with me next week or leave it home and just try my mobile.
ReplyDeleteHi S.C., and thanks for your comment. Yes, a little sad in a way that phones take such good pics with so little effort. I still insist on a good DSLR for any serious photos. A cell phone is fine for walking around the neighborhood, but I can get much better photos with a DSLR. Take your Fuji next week!!
DeleteGreat variety and well done.
ReplyDeleteahhhhh lovely. Love the last one!!
ReplyDeleteHello, I would like to have the street names of sunrise or sunset. Your sky captures and the reflections are all beautiful. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteWOW! So many great captures and beautiful clouds. Hard to pick one favorite. Love the street signs too!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Beautiful shots. I am a big fan of your photography.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
Your sky photos are beautiful. I love that reflection, it is so clear and sharp. Thanks for the tour of the neighborhood and I hope you had lot of fun playing with your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Wow, gorgeous clouds!
ReplyDeleteThose street names are great!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics.
Fun, fun, fun shots! Hurrah for rain making its way to our state.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful skies and I love these vintage camping cars ! What a difference to those you see today !
ReplyDeleteI read this with my phone and came back today on my computer. Two different perspectives. Enjoyed the intersection of Sunrise and Sunset, and those storm clouds. And the stickers! Hope you get some more rain.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue skies and fluffy clouds. Wish our skies looked like that every day. WE mostly have beige colored skies due to the dust and pollution in the air... sigh
ReplyDeleteI like how the iPhone takes photos as well, made me glad I bought one
ReplyDeleteGreat sky shots and posts of the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteHappy Day to you,

Gorgeous captures all!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful photos...so many different sky colours...and a granddaughter. How wonderful for you!
ReplyDeleteI remember the first VW vans in North America, and I don't think they were quite the colour of this one, but it looks great, and fully restored.

Beautiful clouds and colors!
ReplyDeleteDrama in the skies! I used to love stickers as a kid.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking time to take these beautiful sky pictures. It really is a beautiful area, the skies are amazing -- and as long-time RVer I also loved the vintage trailer. Plus I want to live on the corner of Sunrise and Sunset when I grow up ;>). Thank you for sharing all of this -- and now, go outside and play with your precious little desert hiker! (I'm missing my grands -- even though even the great-grandboys are older than your granddaughter!!)
ReplyDeleteI would not mind having your skies. Mine is grey, grey and more grey :(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cloud formations, the last pic a breathtaking !
ReplyDeleteGreat sky shots and posts of the neighborhood!
