Fake Sky

We just walked in the door from a "mini-vacation" with our granddaughter. Can you guess where we were? At one location, the sky was beautiful (but fake).

You could ride motor scooters (also fake, but a great photo op!).

There was plenty of high-end shopping (look, but don't touch!).

Lilly standing inside an Abbey Road phone booth.

We could lounge around in bed if we were feeling lazy.

We got to visit with lions (both real and fake).

Lilly could watch a volcano erupt every night right outside her window!

And all too soon, it was time to leave. At least, too soon for Lilly. Grandma & Grandpa were exhausted and ready to go home 😉

Linking with Skywatch Friday.

Thanks for stopping by!!

  2. The first time I saw the Forum in Caesar's Palace, I was entranced. Fake or not, it's neat! Lilly is so much fun!

  3. Motor scooters and the Beatles - two icons of my youth. On balance I think I prefer the desert before mankind got to work on it. Good for kids of all ages though.

  8. This is hilarious! I only ever go to Vegas in order to get to Lone Pine, and I've never really been in any of the casinos. Not much fun if your limit is $5 (all over Nevada, not just Vegas). But it looks like you folks had a great time, and such adventures are best enjoyed with children anyway. Thanks for stopping by the Farm with encouraging words, too. I have to confess that when I was looking for alternative places to live, I'd often visit your site for the shots of Joshua Tree--one of my favorite places to go for REAL sky. Hope you and yours have a great new year!

  14. Happy New Year, Peter!
You started 2019 with a wonderful post. Must have been quite an adventure for Lilly.
I can image you were kind of exhausted at the end. We had our youngest grandson for a few days, and I was quite tired too. :-)

  19. Brrr, it looks cold! The volcano was the clue that convinced me of where you were. What fun!

  20. Fun times for all! I’m old enough to remember when nobody would have taken a *family* vacation in Vegas (or Reno) and we were glad when that changed...... changing the subject completely, i’m Curious to know your perspective how the shutdown is affecting JT

  21. I couldn't believe that sky when I first saw it, which I think was 20 years, more or less, ago. I didn't know there's a volcano there now. It's been a very long while since we've been to Vegas. The shot that has me wanting to go again is your last one of that hallway. :-)

  22. I'd recognize that sky and fountain anywhere. I haven't been in ages. I need to make a trip up there.
