Just a few sprinkles, nothing heavy. And the clouds make for a dramatic sky.
Lilly had a chance to play on the playground.
Then she saw this pretty tree and decided she wanted to stand under it and catch the leaves as they fall. It was a long wait!
This was a fun shot. I asked Lilly to ride her scooter in front of me as I held the shutter release down in "continuous shooting" mode.
After stopping for ice cream, we headed home. In Southern California, we don't get much in the way of fall colors, but the ginkgo trees on our street put on quite a show for a couple weeks every year.
This is Lilly's version of a "snow angel"!
Uh oh. This can't be good...
A direct hit!
Linking with Skywatch Friday.
Thanks for stopping by!!
Lily is adorable - love her "leaf" angel. I was thinking (after seeing so many hikes in the desert posts) that there is a lot of color where you live like green grass and trees. Somehow I always think desert when I think of spare parts.
ReplyDeleteGreat autumn shots. The skateboard photo is unique. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThose ginko trees look amazing.
ReplyDeleteShe's a beautiful leaf angel! Guess she thought what's the difference; snow or leaves - they both are on the ground! I guess my grandfather needs some! That continuous motion is cool:)
ReplyDeleteBrother Man, Totally Dynamic - Such A Simple Post But These Photos Are Worth A Thousand Words - Well Done
ReplyDeleteCheers
I like it all, very nice photography. No "sky doping" this time? Lovely golden leafs. The last shot is ABSOLUTELY fantastic!!! You must have good camera to make such photos. 😉
ReplyDeleteHa ha, correct, all skies are natural for this post. Actually, I promise to call out any "fake"skies I might use in the future!
DeleteAwww - fabulous shots!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos. I didn't know you got fall season where you live.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun to be had playing with fallen leaves - and photographing them.
ReplyDeleteSo much that's good in your life... Thanks for sharing your work and your joy.
ReplyDeleteThose clouds look very dramtic and you both look like you had fun
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. The autumn colours are spectacular.
ReplyDeleteGreat colours.
ReplyDeleteI love the "continuous action" shot and - your playgrounds have play rock formations? That is so (for me) unique. Our ginkgos have brilliant yellow foliage - not sure why yours had red mixed in. P.S. Happy all your ginkgos seem to be male - if you ever see fruit mixed in by a female, you'll smell why your granddaughter may choose a different place to play! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteVery true, Alana, and thanks for your comment. Our neighbor had a female that would fruit out every year. Not only was it messy and stinky, but people would come by from all over to collect the fruit (for their home-made ginkgo potions) and make a mess in the process. The city finally dug up the tree and replaced it with a male!
DeleteLovely shots.
ReplyDeleteHello, the ginko trees are pretty. Looks like you and Lilly had a fun time at the park. Your scooter photo is neat and I love the leaf angel. Great post and beautiful photos. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow! Truly golden
ReplyDeletemagical scenes and lovely captures. Love the heavy clouds
ReplyDeleteLilly is such a beautiful happy child, probably spoiled a bit. You can make a cloudy day look good. Great job, not all of us have that "EYE". You seem to catch 'it' every time.

ReplyDeleteLeaves are a perfect playground for children, you got some good shots there and I never really thought about using continuous mode - good idea.
ReplyDeleteSo much drama for a bit of the wet stuff... the heavenlies love to show off apparently.. I love the scootering snaps of Lilly. Your snapshots can really be playful1 Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I liked the continuous shoot scene.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I have seen someone make a snow angel in leaves! A superb example of using the resources you have at hand! You made keeping Lilly busy look like a walk in the park - ha ha!
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteWow that sky looks so ominous. I would be happy to send you some snow, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI would love an arch to play on! I'll have to settle for photographing them. I love the Southwest.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! Thanks for sharing your fun with Lilly day.
ReplyDeleteCheers! Lily is a cutie pie. She threw leaves at you, made a snow angel, played at the park. I admire that you are making memories Lily won't ever forget. Awesome playing together with the camera around.
ReplyDeleteI would way rather make Lilly’s version of a snow angel than the cold wet white stuff (and rather her version of a snowball fight too!)....you two had a great Sunday. Love the continuous shot too...how creative!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteAutumn colours are always so pretty!
