Just a low-key day at the beach, but for granddaughter Lilly, it was the highlight of her spring break. We let her invite a friend, which was a BIG DEAL. With COVID, playing with friends has been very limited. With the adults all immunized, we were feeling a little more comfortable. Turned out to be a very uncrowded day, which also worked in our favor.
Really, the only downside of the day was the cool temps and gusty winds. You can see my wife is pretty bundled up. Did that slow down the girls? Heck no!From swimming in the ocean to swimming in the pool (unheated), nothing seemed to slow them down. Ah, to be young again!
Not a sight you often see (no crowds at Tower 1, Huntington Beach).
Linking with Skywatch Friday.
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay safe & stay healthy!
ah the girls are so pretty and full of fun - looks like a grand day at the beach!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I have a beach scene and tower today too.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! My hubby always says the kids don't feel the cold.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that Lilly was able to enjoy this time with a friend - so important for children to do that. Congratulations on facilitating it.
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to seek out a beach. Today it got up to 77 where I live in New York State (highest temp by far this year) with a beautiful blue sky, but the wind was blowing - and I alternated between roasting in the sun and feeling chilled. Funny how I feel colder the older I get. Yes, to be young again!
ReplyDelete...you had two cuties for models! That beach looked spacious, I've seen some beaches with people elbow to elbow. You sure had some gorgeous skies to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteKids love the water.

Looks like a lot of fun. Yep, we are vaccinated and we are doing a little bit more also. Great photos of two great young people really enjoying themselves. Kudos to you for making that happen.
ReplyDeleteI learned a long time ago with my own kids that they are impervious to cold when it comes to time at the beach! Glad it was not too crowded!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post. Oh, I remember when we were kids swimming in the cold North Sea in Germany. Yes, to be young again... Cute girls and so refreshing you may post this. My SIL does not let me show pics of my Nieces (OK, her kids, of course) online...
ReplyDeleteHave seen them last summer and we´re still in lockdown.
Loved the post and Beautiful pics.
ReplyDeleteYou were in excellent company!
ReplyDeleteWow! excellent pictures. Recently, my kids too love playing in sea water. Contrastingly, we do not have cooler beaches at our village thanks to tropical climate :-)
ReplyDeleteGood on ya! Great pictures of a fine day.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the girls had a wonderful and memorable day! I'm sure Lilly really enjoyed being able to have a friend with her. Great that the beach wasn't crowded. I'm fully vaccinated since January, but my hubby just barely got his first dose a few days ago - we are still being very cautious.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time for Lilly and her friend. The uncrowded beach looks great too. Pretty series of photos. Take care, have a happy day!
a beautiful suite of family photos of sunshine and vacations. I love these views under the pier and the last photo makes me nostalgic for a childhood spent by the sea. Oh yes to be young again. Have a nice week-end
ReplyDeleteI hope the girls keep those photos to look back on decades from now. We never get those days again.
ReplyDeleteA real fun day. How nice to have a beach nearby to cool off from all that desert visits.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have given your daughter and her friend a greater favor, that's obvious.
ReplyDeleteI think the first photo of the two girls under that wooden construction is beautiful.
Looks like you had a good day with few people around then. Kids don't seem to feel the cold but I bet they shivered when they came out
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is so beautiful and growing up fast ~ what a lovely time you, your wife and girls ~ Beautiful photos too ~ Xo

Dearest Peter,
ReplyDeleteHappy for your granddaughter and her friend!
Both of you have been rather brave for tagging along.
Hugs,
Mariette
Children definitely don't feel the weather like we do SPP, neither heat nor cold 😉 Delightful series of photos ✨
ReplyDeleteLoved the kids and the pilings. Good shot. WE had one grand daughter and she was a gem! I know the feeling.
ReplyDeleteGood thoughts from Florida!
Sherry & jack
What a brilliant sky! Looks like the girls enjoyed themselves. I wonder if the one girl wants us to notice her manicure? I do!
ReplyDeleteI like those under the bridge, far away portal shots. I'm finally getting my vaccine next week. Traveling will seem less death defying now. Happy Spring trails!
ReplyDeleteOh what fun. Spring break at the beach. As you said 'oh to be young again'.

Buen juego te ha dado ese lugar fabuloso para la fotografÃa.
ReplyDeleteEs bueno disfrutar de una cercanÃa del mar. en el encontramos muchos beneficios que afectan al estado de ánimo.
Well, and to be able to share it with a friend means the world too.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the girls had lots of fun. (Your granddaughter is going to appreciate all these pics of her when she gets older.) I'm picturing that part of the beach on surf competition days or when the air show comes to town. Amazing seeing it empty.
ReplyDeleteBig Smiles, Beautiful Beach . . . Life as it should be.
ReplyDeletethank you!

Greetings and Salutations! I am so happy that Lilly invited a friend to enjoy Spring break with you. Was that Huntington Beach, CA? My favorite beach when I was in 7th grade. Time changes. Don't recognize it. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes, Huntington Beach. Sadly, the Ruby's at the end of the pier closed. I used to like walking to the end of the pier for a burger. Not sure who the new owners are.
DeleteLove your perspective shots from under the pier. Children always seem so active that I don't think they have time to feel the cold :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful views....
ReplyDeleteGreat blue and: in april on the beach, that must be the paradis! I wear my winter coat in these days...
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend
It´s been a long year. In that age year is a lifetime. Glad she can now enjoy friend(s).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place with great beach and clear blue sky. The young girls really enjoyed themselves.
ReplyDeleteIt looks cold but lovely, and the girls look happy :-))
ReplyDeleteSo strange to see these almost empty beaches whole over the world.... At least, these two had a great day.
ReplyDeleteFun shots.
ReplyDeleteYou captured some wonderful photos of this memorable day at the beach. My favorites are 4 and 5. I love those shots.
ReplyDeleteYou're fortunate to be vaccinated, ours is very slow here at the moment, we are still waiting.
ReplyDeleteThe photos of your granddaughter and her friend were great to see, Rick. Looks like the girls were having a great beach day and the shot of them under the piers was terrific!
ReplyDeleteAdorable young ladies and a memory for their whole lives. Gorgeous pictures, as always.
ReplyDeleteGreat to be getting back to what used to be normal !
ReplyDeleteFun time on the beach. And Cheezits :) Sounds like a great outing.
