It's been a quiet week, with no travel out to the desert. The weather has been wonderful. We went from a hot weekend, with highs in the 90's, to very comfortable mid-70s starting on Monday. Today the sky is blue with big, fluffy clouds. The sky was calling to me, and I couldn't resist going out!
Old rusty valve left behind on what used to be oil property. |
Later on, I took my granddaughter to soccer practice. There are some trails behind the soccer field that are great for hiking, so I try to get in a little exercise during part of her practice. I was finishing up my hike a little after sunset when I noticed this gorgeous sky. I took these photos, then went back and watched the last half hour of her practice.
Thanks for stopping by!!
...I love a fluffy cloud kind of day and the rust is a nice addition.

Nice sky with the hospital in the distance. Second Skywatch so far today I've read with a hospital and skies!
ReplyDeleteI always admire a good photographer and one who looks for THAT great shot. You sure do it. For some reason along with the formations,, I enjoy the trail left by humans that are left along the way to show they were there. Always good to take the grandkids anywhere....
ReplyDeleteWe appreciate you taking us along.
Sherry & jack out here in a warm Florida.
Beautiful photos of the clouds and the sunset. Fantstic colors!

You would think oil companies might feel some responsibility to better clean up the messes they create. Shoot! They could maybe donate these to a local art museum as sculptures. :-)
ReplyDeleteSt. Jude's hospital and that path is mind blowing beautiful! What an "eye" you have.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful clouds. The fluffy ones are my favorite kind.
ReplyDeleteYou find the most unusual things . : )) Interesting things.
ReplyDeleteAnd the sky... well it is always amazing...
I would answer the call to go out and enjoy those clouds too! There is something about your photo showing the path leading to St. Jude's Hospital that I cannot put into words. I googled to read more about that hospital.
ReplyDeleteThe desert doesn't disappoint, backyard or farther afeild. Skytacular!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an easy trail -just my speed lol We have a St. Jude's Hospital here in Memphis, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies, beautiful hiking weather and scenery whether you're at home or out in the desert. (where you are also at home really!). Smart to get in a hike and still have time to watch part of the soccer practice
