A Classic Beach Sunset!

I was comfortably kicking back in our motel room when I heard the ding of an incoming text message. It was from my wife (who was out walking the dog): "You need to come out and look at the sky." The sky had been overcast earlier, and I figured the sunset would be dull and gray, but my wife is not one to exaggerate. Overcoming the inertia that had set in, I headed out the door.
My wife walking the dog. Now that's a nice sky!

Lots of people were out watching the sun drop into the Pacific!

The end of a perfect day!

  1. ...GREAT saved by a text! Over the years I've learned not to rule out a sunset until the fat lady sings. By the way the last photo is my favorite!!!

Oh, sorry… : ) ... the sunset… absolutely fabulous! It reminds me of the beautiful sunset I saw in Clearwater, Florida. Breathtaking!

  13. Super photos. I love the waves crashing on the rocks :-D

  14. There were just enough clouds of the right type to make for a beautiful sunset. Your choice to photograph the waves crashing and crashing on the rocks completes the scene!

  19. I must admit you guys do have the most fantastic Sunsets. The closest we come is In Key west seeing the sunset over the Gulf. OR of course at sea... [-)

    Beautiful work...

  32. Sweet, your wife really did come good for you, I think my wife would have taken some photos then let me know about the sunset. It's been pretty dull here of late hardly any sun to mention
