One of my favorite places to be for a 4th of July celebration is at the beach. Huntington Beach shoots off fireworks from the end of the pier, so its both beautiful and very photogenic. Unfortunately, it's also extremely popular. The crowds are challenging, parking is impossible, and traffic is gridlocked, especially after the fireworks end. These photos were taken on the 4th of July in 2022.
Breezy conditions as we wait for the show. |
If you celebrate, have a happy and safe 4th of July!!
Linking with Skywatch Friday.
...the beach is a great place to celebrate! Have a Happy 4th.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I don't watch firework shows anymore either because of the crowds.
ReplyDeleteDearest Peter,
ReplyDeleteIndeed, a fabulous spot to view.
Happy Independence Day to you and yours!
My fondest memory is Pieter's speech before the fireworks:

Lovely celebration pics. Happy 4th of July to you. #Skywatch
ReplyDeleteGreat fireworks that year! Happy 4th.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! Happy Independence Day.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your photos. I find taking a good photo at this kind of event is impossible for me.
ReplyDeleteLove the fireworks! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteAmazing fireworks, Great clicks.
ReplyDeleteHappy Independence Day. Greetings
Beautiful photos. You've explained all the challenges that we also face in getting to the beach for fireworks. Sadly Vancouver doesn't even have fireworks now for New Year's Day or Canada Day (July 1st). But they do have fireworks in neighbouring municipalities.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful end for this memorable day.
ReplyDeleteI hope you got there again, but if not, you have the pics and memories.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of the fireworks show.
ReplyDeleteNice celebration :D
ReplyDeleteThat was wonderful!!! You have good memories of that year.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I once visited HB. 12 years ago, was it? An HB woman wanted to adopt Tiny Tim, an Albany cat and my brother donated miles so I could fly him down. I had a 3 hour layover there, and Kate, Tim's adopter, took me on a tour of HB including the boardwalk, the pier and I even dipped my feet into the ocean. My three hour vacation! Tim is still alive and well in HB. Kate moved with him back to WA, but ended up back in HB, where he's a very old boy now.
ReplyDeleteLovely fireworks shots ~ thanks,
ReplyDeleteeverywhere seems too crowded and has traffic problems ~ glad I didn't have to travel to see fireworks ~
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Fireworks at the beach sounds like a special treat!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures of the fireworks, well done!
ReplyDeleteThe last picture was my favorite. This year, we stayed home (last year we traveled to Plymouth, Massachusetts from our New York State home) and just relaxed and watched fireworks on TV.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, hope you had a good one :-D
ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorite things, beaches and fireworks, I love these photos.
ReplyDeletebeautiful captures!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fireworks pics.. we did not get to see any for the first time ever. the best to you and yours from Florida.... HOT!
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy July 4th.....
ReplyDeletewonderful photos.... thank you for sharing....
Yup, I want to go nowhere near Huntington Beach on the 4th. Or when they're hosting the surfing championship (which always hits right around my birthday). Happy 4th.
ReplyDeleteFireworks at the beach, what a great combination! I've been to a few beaches in California, but not Huntington Beach. It looks beautiful. Hope you had a great Fourth!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful shots. It's a perfect spot for a fireworks show. My friends who have a place in Laguna Beach were there for the holiday and sent some photos. They had a drone show which was interesting. But, they are lucky both to have a place near the beach and to not have to drive after the show.
ReplyDeleteExcellent fireworks shots! 👌 Not so easy to photograph. These are beautiful. 🤩
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. I really like the last image. I can't believe I haven't really "seen" SoCal.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
Happy 4th of July! Beach fireworks are the absolute best. It brings back memories of watching amazing firework displays over the Philippines on New Year's Eve. On a side note, we also used to celebrate Filipino-American Friendship Day as a public holiday July 4th.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! To have the desert and the beach so near must be great.
ReplyDeleteHere it´s only private and you have to fear such a thing ends up on your car. Litter everywhere for the next days.
Yours looks MUCH better!
Oh, we do this of course only to celebrate the New Year and people buy New Year's Eve rockets. Some rockets are really cheap-stuff and icky. The people line up in the street that is full of parked cars and shoot the rockets off.
ReplyDeleteWe stay inside, it´s no fun for us. All the pets in the houses get scared, too.... you have a great alternative!
Agree!
DeleteStunning shots of the fireworks, shame you did not get to see them this year. Happy 4th July, it was for us we got rid of the dummies who were runningthe country Yay
ReplyDeleteGreat shots in 2022. It is the feeliing of anticipation in your first image plus the soft light, that impressed me.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. So nice to be free of trees and buildings impeding the view.
ReplyDeleteFireworks enlivened the beach at night.
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic captures of the fireworks!
ReplyDeleteThese are really marvelous skillful photographs! I tip my lens to you. Yes, I have much less tolerance for crowds these days.... Contentment and space is more attractive to me than jostling. Hope you are having a beautiful summer friend. Aloha
ReplyDeletePretty breezy conditions for a fireworks display. But it looks like everything went well anyway.
ReplyDeleteFireworks and the beach are a perfect pairing. I hope you had a fun fourth!
ReplyDeleteQuerido amigo, espectaculares fotografÃas, me encantaron.
ReplyDeleteAbrazos y besos, que tengas un precioso dÃa
What a spectacular way to celebrate the 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteYour photos captured the fireworks beautifully, despite the challenges of crowds and traffic.
I can imagine how magical it must have been to witness it firsthand.
Happy belated 4th!
ReplyDeleteGreat fireworks on the beach.
looks absolutely wonderful
