Mohave Yucca Sky!
I took these last time we went out to 29 Palms. We have Mohave Yuccas on our property, and I like the way the sharp spiny leaves look like their holding up the clouds! Happy Sky Watch Friday and have a great weekend. We're hoping to get out to the desert this weekend for more Sky Watch shots!
Photo taken at sunset just outside our garage door... I never get tired of this view!~
beautiful skies! what part of 29 is this? when we first moved there in 85 we lived in the Edge of Town trailer park (across from Stater Bros), there wasn't much housing then except on base...then we moved by the front entrance to base, which i've heard they've moved the entrance to the back entrance....i can't remember the name of the road though, valley or valle something.
The view from your garage door is fantastic; no wonder you never tire of it. I love the colors of the sky. I also like your first photo of the yucca plant holding up the clouds.
Now that is my kind of sunset! My view looks straight onto Mt San Jacinto, still desert, just a different perspective. There is something very magical about living here in the desert, as you well know :)
Love your header photo! And I was surprised to read that you are very near 29 Palms! My grandparents had bought one of those little itty bitty cabins back in the 60's I think. They eventually bought a house in town and always went back there. My grandfather actually spent his last days in 29. Thank you for your comment! Have a great weekend exploring! Debbie's Travels
Thanks for your comment, Debbie. I have a real passion for those little homestead cabins that dot the desert out near 29. We were out there this weekend and I got some great shots of two more that I will be posting in the future.
fantastic colors. I love your desert shots, hope you get some great ones this weekend!
