Can't believe it's Friday night... been a crazy week and it's gone by so fast it's just a blur! My Skywatch submission for this week is from about 5-6 weeks ago when we went out to Pipes Canyon (north of Yucca Valley) to take some photos. This was a really productive outing... here's a few photos, with more to come. Have a great weekend!!

One of my favorites... beam of light through the desert sky, very dramatic! |

from all over the world!
Love that area and the beam of light is a Great shot.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous light in these images!
ReplyDeleteWell done on all, but the God's light photo is tops. I saw that term long ago used to describe that type of sky and light combination. It seemed a fitting description and have never forgotten it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skywatch, it is March already !!!!! Time sure flies !
ReplyDeleteWow, that first one is spectacular! I enjoy seeing your desert shots. The landscape is so different than mine.
ReplyDeleteO my, that top on i want it blown up in a frame!! when i look at it i hear a chorus choir singing ahhs and ooohs. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
The photos are a bit dark for my taste, but I love the compositions of all of them, and the beam of light in the first one is amazing!
ReplyDeleteFirst pic is so cool with this light coming up from above :)

ReplyDeleteAmazing beam of light! Such gorgeous shots.
ReplyDeleteI love it when I see the beams of light coming from the clouds.
ReplyDeleteIn Indiana, it usually happens a couple of hours before sunset
and on a sunny day (we don't get lots of those in the winter).
For me, it's always a visual of God watching over us and spreading His light.
These are each wonderful photos.
Keep shooting and appreciating those beautiful sunny skies.
Beautiful captures of light, tones and contrasts, along with the lovely Joshua trees.
DeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteOh my Heavens.....Literally!!!! Love that first shot--lucky you to be in the right place at the right time!

ReplyDeleteYour photography really brings out the simplicity and beauty of the desert landscape! Very nice lighting, too. Thanks for visiting my sky...we're supposed to get a bit of rain today...finally!
ReplyDeleteHey, we saw a sign for Pipes Canyon yesterday when we had driven out west past Pioneertown. Haven't taken that road yet. Hubby seems to have his own agenda and with him, I don't get to go exploring...sigh... The Morongo Preserve was beautiful yesterday with the cottonwoods leafing out...just gorgeous! We will return there before summer. Joshua Tree~the blossoms on the joshuas were just starting to open! Some hadn't opened yet and it was interesting to see them. It was a good weekend, even though my knee is KILLING ME!
