Cadiz, CA (or Route 66, continued!)

Just southeast of Chambless, CA, on old Route 66, you see signs for Cadiz. The map also shows the town of Cadiz, but when you get there and check it out, you realize someone pulled a fast one! No town, not even remnants of a town, but lots of train activity. Desert trains make for good photos, so it was well worth stopping and exploring.

Added a texture to give it that gritty, desert feel...
So, which version do you prefer??

    I like the first one with the real sky.

    You asked about my camera or lens. I just have a plain Nikon Coolpix L120. No special lens, on tripod just a good zoom and I try to be steady. Someday I'll grow up to a big camera, but I have to learn this one first. MB

    I've yet to embrace the "hyper reality" of HDR! So, I'll have to go with the black and white.

    I like the first one also. It reminds me of the other shots you took of the truck/cars. I love that kind of processing. This is a great shot.. wonderful job.

    That's a great shot! The depth of field is impressive. What f stop did you use? Being more of a traditionalist, I prefer the first one. Keep shooting.

    My fave is the HDR shot, but they're all good! Your composition is really good, so with any of the edits, you can't go wrong. It's fun to experiment, isn't it?
