Rattlesnake Canyon, Joshua Tree National Park (Part 2)

I'm not a fan of long, rambling blog posts, hence the Part 1 and Part 2 for this post.  My son and I hiked Rattlesnake Canyon about a week ago (accessed from Indian Cove campground in Joshua Tree).  Just adding a few fun photos to that post (using Photoshop to make them a little more interesting).  My legs are no longer sore (finally!) and we had a really great time.  Go back to my "part 1" post for details on location and level of difficulty.  Hope you like the photos.
View from the top! Cropped and textured in Photoshop.

Beautiful fall colors in Rattlesnake Canyon!  Used
Photoshop to turn everything B&W except the tree.
Pine tree in the Canyon... canvas texture added.

  1. Beautiful photos of Joshua Tree! I love the Autumn tree colors left on the B&W photo background.
From the yard pictures in my blog you should know there were once 4 trees in that yard and one was very invasive,a Shamel Ash. It was removed 20 years ago and the damage had already been done it was the hollow spaces from rotting roots that caused the final shift and damage to the main line.

  2. Stunning photos. I've never been to that part of the world. Your photos make it look "otherworldly".

  9. I'm not usually a big fan of doctored pix - but the effects you've used are AWESOME! Particularly like the canvas effect - it adds an extra dimension to what was already a great photo!

  17. I really appreciate all the comments! Karen, no rattlesnakes. I think it's getting a little too cold for snake activity. My wife "found" one a few miles from this area this last summer. Fastest I've seen her run in a long time!
